7444 Gallery Burnett Show

Yesterday I was in Saranac Lake helping artists Matt Burnett and Scott Fuller set up for their installation: "Cluster/phobiC", which will be at the 7444 Gallery 7/1 through 7/29.

Mostly I was in Matt's studio painting the edges of his pieces, which are acrylic paintings on wooden boards. Took all day because they were all these crazy natural shapes that he had sawed out of different types of wood and had not been sanded. Really cool forms painted impressionist style. Matt was surprisingly unconcerned about minor mistakes from my clumsy brush, so it was a pretty chill time. He had Pandora internet radio on, I gotta start using that.

The other guy Scott Fuller was fixing wires and such to his work, equally boring and time consuming. It wasn't till we finally brought it all over to the gallery at like 7 that I saw his clay tiles;

The technique he described to me was fascinating; Photography with fire and smoke somehow!

I'll get more details and some photos up soon.
